Event Summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia is proud to announce our 6th annual Philly Showcase of Wine, Cheese & Beer. Join us at the Pennsylvania Convention on April 20th at 6pm where we will get to enjoy hundreds of fine wines, classic cheeses, craft brews and gourmet foods, along with live entertainment and a silent auction! We will also feature classic Italian cheeses by BelGioioso Cheese and unique wines by Vermeil Wines, from Eagles legend Coach Dick Vermeil, to further honor the city of Philadelphia.

Your ticket includes a commemorative wine glass and samples of the delicious wines, cheese, beers and specialty foods available at the event.

This event is always the cornerstone of our efforts to provide thousands of Philly youth with a safe place to learn, grow and succeed. All proceeds go to support the Philadelphia Clubs. This year we will get to see the results of those efforts first hand, as we pay legacy tribute to local attorney Rob Ross, whose journey from Club Kid to Club Champion continues to inspire us all.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia has been serving youth since the Germantown Club first opened its doors in 1887.  Since then we have expanded, providing quality programming to youth in neighborhoods across Philadelphia. As an organization, we have regularly set the national standard. In 1892, our Nicetown Club opened, becoming the first Club to serve girls. Our Wissahickon Club, which opened in 1896, was the first in the nation to serve African American Youth. Our Clubs were part of the original Federated Boys Clubs that formed in 1906, the precursor to Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Today we operate 18 Clubs in Philadelphia’s most economically disadvantaged communities. For over 130 years, BGCP has been dedicated to ensuring that at-risk children have access to quality programs that will enhance their lives and advance their futures. Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We offer youth in the neighborhoods we serve one of the few stable and supportive environments available and understand that it is our responsibility to provide them with the tools and resources they need to succeed. We know that Bold Changes are necessary in order to ensure that all of the youth we serve are able meet their future goals and develop their full potential. Over the next five years, in partnership with David L. Cohen of Comcast, Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia will invest $40 million into improving the conditions of our Clubs and communities. Our Bold Change for Kids campaign will transform old, dilapidated facilities into state-of-the-art Boys & Girls Clubs that offer unique innovative programming and give all youth the opportunity to achieve a Great Future.
